Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is the core art taught at the Marra Senki Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy.  Even though BJJ contains standup techniques for winning a fight, it is famous for its ground fighting techniques. BJJ was specifically developed to allow a smaller person to defeat a larger person by sophisticated application of leverage and technique. Gaining superior position on your opponent and applying a myriad of chokes, holds, locks and joint manipulations becomes the foundation for this fun martial art. BJJ is normally performed in a gi (kimono), which serves as a training tool and gives the student a greater element of control.

Fitness, Self-Defense and Fun!

Fitness, Self-Defense and fun is at the core of our curriculum.  Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the ideal martial art for children from the ages 6 and up.  Our classes are physically demanding which pushes todays youth to break the habits of a sedetary lifestyle.  Leading them to be more active, healthier, happier and more confident.

At a minimum Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches boys that strength isn’t always the answer and girls that they are alot stronger then they think they are.

Is Jiu-Jitsu safe?

At Marra Senki BJJ Academy safety is paramount. Accidents may happen, however, lack of seriousness during training and the resultant careless application of technique or counters contribute greatly to injury. Careless practice is disrespectful to the spirit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and we do not allow it.

Our staff is build up of trained profesionals with over 10 years experience in fitness, and martial arts with safety always being a top priority.

Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is taught Monday to Friday at 4:30pm and 5:30pm.  On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday there is a 3:30pm Self-Defense Kids class that is included in the training program.  Each class is an hour long and sutible for children ages  6 and above.

Fitted short sleeve crew neck t-shirt and shorts that can be secured around the waist is recomended.  All jewlery must be removed prior to getting on the mats to train.
